For many years, Laszlo & Melinda Zongor have been well known in the antiques trade as specialists in handwoven coverlets.
They have placed coverlets with several major collections. Many have been exhibited by Colonial Williamsburg, Shelburne, and other important museums.
Melinda curated and wrote the catalog for the 1988 exhibit “Warm and Wonderful” at Hirschl & Adler Folk in New York City. In addition, she is author of Coverlets and the Spirit of America: The Shein Collection (2002) and Coverlets at the Gilchrist: American Coverlets 1771-1889 (2005).
The Zongors are longtime active members of the Colonial Coverlet Guild of America.
As part of their fulltime commitment to The National Museum of the American Coverlet in Bedford, PA, the Zongors have resigned their memberships in the Antiques Council, Antiques Dealers’ Association (ADA), and the New Hampshire Antiques Dealers’ Association (NHADA).
